Why Vonk?
Hey, I’m Bart.
I’m a software developer who’s decided to take the plunge and become an entrepreneur.
A few years ago, I was a workaholic and found myself without any friends. It’s been a tough journey so far, but I’ve managed to make some great friends along the way. Even so, I’m still constantly looking for new people to share my hobbies with whether it’s playing board games, going climbing or running, visiting the cinema or a museum, or trying something new.
I want to help people make new connections and realize the value of their friendships. Socializing is exciting and can open many doors professionally or in your personal life. Putting yourself out there and trying new things is a great way to learn more about yourself, discover what you like, get inspired, and to grow as a person.
Once Vonk becomes a platform where lots of great people are having fun through their hobbies, I want to take the next step and start hosting my own events through it. I believe traveling and volunteering are two important ways to broaden the mind and feel more connected to the world and its people. Finally, if that is successful, I envision more free physical 3rd spaces* where people can go to socialize.
